Yemeni Forces Regain Positions, Push Toward Houthi Areas in Taiz

(MENAFN) Yemeni government forces have recaptured several positions from the Houthi group and continued their advance in southwestern Taiz province, amid a series of airstrikes against Houthi fighters and military assets.

According to reports, government troops regained control of positions overlooking the Jardad area in Al-Shamayatayn district after Houthi fighters had infiltrated the sites.

The forces subsequently moved toward Ghayl Bani Omar as part of ongoing military operations aimed at removing Houthi forces from Taiz province. The rural area remains an active frontline between the two sides.

Government troops also captured military equipment during the clashes and inflicted casualties on Houthi fighters, although no specific figure was provided.

Airstrikes were carried out against Houthi positions, gatherings and vehicles in several parts of the province. Targets included Houthi concentrations and military vehicles in the Dhubab, Al-Waziiyah and Hayfan districts.

Another airstrike struck a gathering of Houthi fighters in the Al-Afirah area of Jabal Habashi district. The attack reportedly destroyed several military vehicles and triggered an explosion at a stockpile containing medium-caliber ammunition.
