Bangladesh Envoy In Nepal Urges Youth Entrepreneurship In Tourism, Creative Sectors
(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka: Bangladesh Ambassador to Nepal Md. Shafiquar Rahman has called for greater cooperation among Asian countries to create opportunities for young entrepreneurs, particularly in tourism, technology, and other creative industries.
Speaking as a special guest at the seventh edition of the Asian Professional Excellence Award 2026 in Kathmandu on September 13, the ambassador said Asia's growing role in the global economy creates significant opportunities for young entrepreneurs in the tourism sector.
He stressed the need for closer cooperation among people, businesses, institutions, media professionals, and young entrepreneurs across Asian countries to tap the region's potential in tourism, trade, education, technology, and other creative industries.
“Through mutual cooperation, the immense potential of Asia in business and trade, energy, education, technology, tourism, and other creative industries can be utilized more effectively,” the ambassador said.
The event was organized by Season Media at a local hotel in Kathmandu, with Nepal's first president, Dr. Ram Baran Yadav, attending as the chief guest. Prominent figures from Bangladesh, Nepal, China, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and other Asian countries participated in the event.
Highlighting Nepal's rich cultural and spiritual heritage, Rahman said the country's unique geography, Buddhist heritage, and cultural traditions could contribute to a deeper understanding of peaceful coexistence, mutual recognition, and respect.
He also highlighted the longstanding friendly relations between Bangladesh and Nepal, saying bilateral ties are expanding across various sectors.
The ambassador called for greater efforts to utilize the existing potential between the two countries for shared prosperity, including through cooperation in tourism and other emerging sectors.
The awards ceremony recognized individuals for their contributions to various fields. Three Bangladeshis were also honored at the event.
Alhaj Md. Sohag, Founder and Chairman of Mim Sarat Group, received the Outstanding Business Leadership & Social Responsibility Award; Indrajit Kumar Ghosh, Chief Photojournalist of Dainik Khabar Kagoj, received the Excellence in Photojournalism Award; and Underwater Photographer Md. Sharif Sarwar received the Ocean & Underwater Photography Excellence Award.
