According to the Ministry of IT, an automated digital system has been developed in collaboration with provincial departments, NADRA and telecom companies to implement the scheme. The system will be used to verify eligible individuals and their vehicles.
The vehicle verification system has also been automated in coordination with provincial transport and excise departments to ensure that the petrol subsidy reaches eligible individuals in a transparent manner.
The Ministry of IT says the scheme aims to reduce the financial burden on workers and low-income groups caused by high petrol prices.
