West Bank: Israeli Forces Detain 2 Palestinians, Seize Foreign Activist
(MENAFN) Israeli military units carried out a series of raids across the occupied West Bank on Sunday, arresting two Palestinians and detaining a foreign solidarity activist, according to official Palestinian media outlets.
A news agency reported that forces detained the activist and confiscated his vehicle at a checkpoint near Al-Mughayyir, located northeast of Ramallah. The military simultaneously imposed tighter restrictions at the checkpoint, triggering severe traffic backups and hampering residents' ability to move freely through the area. As of Sunday, the activist's whereabouts and condition remained unclear.
Further south, Israeli forces detained a Palestinian man during a raid on Al-Tabaqa village, south of Hebron, a Palestinian TV channel reported.
The news agency additionally reported that troops raided Kafr Ein, northwest of Ramallah, discharging live ammunition during the operation. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
In a separate arrest, Israeli forces detained 23-year-old former prisoner Shahid Mustafa Youssef Maatan while he was on the job at a private school in Rammun village.
Near occupied East Jerusalem, military vehicles rolled into Anata, fanning out across multiple streets and residential neighborhoods.
Additional raids struck villages throughout Jenin province, with forces also searching a home in Arraba, according to an official radio station.
