Legal action will be taken against those who violate the prescribed hunting conditions. A maximum of 15 birds may be caught per day on a single licence.

The licence fee for hunting with a Bulara or Lawa has been set at Rs8,000, while the use of any type of electrical equipment for hunting is prohibited.

According to the Wildlife Department, illegal hunting is not only a violation of the law but also poses a threat to the future of wildlife.
