Russia Already Poses Threat To All Of Europe - Estonian FM

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna wrote about this on the social media platform X, according to Ukrinform.

“I spent three days in Ukraine with air raid sirens sounding day and night. Three days of following the news of Ukrainians across the country going about their lives, only to be struck by Russian attacks while shopping, stopping at a petrol station or sleeping in their own beds,” the Estonian official noted.

He added that it was with a heavy heart that he crossed the Ukrainian-Polish border, where the need to heed air raid sirens disappears, and expressed outrage at“how seemingly easy it is to leave the war behind.”

“Today, Russia struck near that very border at Yahodyn, bringing its terror right to the doorstep of the EU and NATO. Members of my own team had crossed there only shortly before,” Tsahkna emphasized.

The Estonian minister noted that crossing the border does not mean the threat from Russia disappears.

“We have seen sabotage and cyberattacks across Europe. We have seen Russia prepared to put explosives into European logistics chains, recklessly endangering innocent lives. We have seen provocations, interference and disinformation.

Russia is already a threat to the whole of Europe,” the Estonian foreign minister listed the threats.

He emphasized that Ukraine faces these threats every day, paying an incredibly high price for it.

“Helping Ukraine defend itself is therefore not charity, and it is not someone else's war. It is an investment in the security of all of Europe,” Tsahkna emphasized.

Elaborating on the nature of these security investments, he called for providing Kyiv with the necessary military support, urgently strengthening Ukraine's air defense, supporting its ability to exert pressure through strikes deep into enemy territory, as well as tightening sanctions and cutting off the revenue that funds the Russian war machine.

“Putin must understand that every act of aggression and terror will make the cost of this war higher for Russia, not lower. Ukraine is holding the line. Europe must make sure it has everything it needs to prevail,” Tsahkna concluded.

As reported by Ukrinform, on September 13, the Russian army attacked a passenger train locomotive two kilometers from the border with Poland.

Shortly before Russian forces struck the locomotive, a diplomatic train carrying security advisors from several European Unio member states and former European leaders-including former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson-was at the Yahodyn station.
