JSC, ABJ Sign Mou To Boost Cooperation, Financial Sector Efficiency


(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN - The Jordan Securities Commission (JSC) and the Association of Banks in Jordan (ABJ) on Sunday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation, exchange expertise and align work frameworks in accordance with the legislation governing the two institutions.

The MoU was signed at the JSC headquarters by JSC Chairman Imad Abu Haltam, and ABJ CEO Maher Mahrouq, in the presence of members of the JSC Board of Commissioners, according to a statement by ABJ.

The agreement aims to strengthen institutional cooperation, facilitate the exchange of knowledge and data, and leverage the two institutions' expertise to support the development of the Kingdom's financial sector and enhance market efficiency.

Under the MoU, the two sides agreed to conduct joint research and studies in line with their objectives, serve shared interests and contribute to the development of financial operations.

The memorandum also provides for cooperation in designing and organising specialised training programmes, lectures and periodic events for financial sector stakeholders, with the aim of addressing current and future sector needs and raising awareness of industry developments.

The two institutions also agreed to collaborate on capacity-building programmes to develop their human resources based on shared priorities and training needs.

The MoU further provides for technical cooperation among specialists from both sides, as well as joint consultations to review and evaluate the legislative and regulatory frameworks governing their operations in line with local and international best practices.
