Turkish, Iranian Ministers Discuss Hormuz, Regional Conflict Talks

(MENAFN) Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi held a telephone conversation Saturday to discuss developments surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, as well as ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving conflicts across the region.

The two ministers exchanged views on the latest developments affecting maritime security and navigation in the strategic waterway, which remains an important route for regional trade and energy shipments. Their discussion also focused on diplomatic initiatives and negotiations intended to reduce tensions and help bring the region’s conflicts to an end.

Fidan and Araghchi additionally addressed the recent attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, according to diplomatic sources. The issue was discussed alongside broader regional security developments, reflecting the wider concerns over escalating tensions and their potential impact on neighboring countries.

The talks come as regional actors continue diplomatic contacts aimed at containing tensions and preventing further escalation. Türkiye and Iran have maintained communication over developments in the region, particularly issues involving maritime security, ongoing conflicts and efforts to pursue diplomatic solutions.
