Dortmund Stay Perfect With Dominant 3-0 Rout of Paderborn
(MENAFN) Borussia Dortmund kept their unbeaten Bundesliga start alive on Saturday, cruising to a 3-0 home win over newly promoted Paderborn.
Fabio Silva put the hosts ahead early, converting a fast-break chance in the fifth minute with a right-footed finish from the center of the box after being teed up by Serhou Guirassy.
Dortmund carried their slim 1-0 lead into the break, needing until late in the match to pull away. Felix Nmecha doubled the advantage in the 80th minute, finishing off a pass from Maximilian Beier.
Nine minutes later, Nmecha struck again in spectacular fashion, converting a bicycle kick off a cross from Marcel Sabitzer to complete his brace and put the result beyond doubt at 3-0.
The win extends Dortmund's perfect start to three victories from three matches, putting them on nine points and second in the table behind Freiburg on goal difference alone. Paderborn remain stuck on one point and have yet to find the net in the league this season.
Freiburg Explodes for Five as Leverkusen Stumble at Augsburg
Freiburg also stayed unbeaten, thrashing Borussia Monchengladbach 5-0 at home to leapfrog Dortmund into first place on goal difference.
Elsewhere, Bayer Leverkusen were held to a 2-2 draw away at Augsburg, while Hoffenheim edged past Stuttgart 2-1.
Eintracht Frankfurt picked up their first Bundesliga win of the season, beating Mainz 3-1 on the road behind a brace from Can Uzun.
