Iranian, Emirati Leaders Discuss Efforts to Ease Regional Tensions

(MENAFN) Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan meet on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in New Delhi to discuss efforts to reduce tensions and promote greater stability across the region.

The two leaders also address a range of regional and international matters, including "reducing tensions, promoting stability in the region, and enhancing prospects for peace and development for its peoples," according to reports.

Footage of the meeting is also released, although no further details are provided about the discussions or the issues raised by the two sides.

The talks take place as the BRICS summit brings together the Chinese, Russian and Iranian presidents along with other world leaders. The gathering comes amid the prolonged US-Iran conflict and the continuing war between Russia and Ukraine.

China is set to assume the rotating BRICS presidency next year after India's term concludes.
