Yemeni Government Forces Target Houthi Positions with Drone Strikes

(MENAFN) Yemeni government forces carry out a series of drone attacks against Houthi positions in the southwestern province of Al-Dhale, describing the operation as a “precision” strike amid renewed fighting across the country.

The Nation’s Shield Forces say the drones targeted Houthi locations in Al-Dhale, although they do not provide details about the specific sites hit.

Footage released by the forces shows an aerial operation aimed at a gathering involving dozens of Houthi members.

The Houthis do not immediately issue a response to the reported strikes.

The latest attacks come as Yemen experiences a renewed shift in territorial control following an escalation in fighting between government forces and the Houthis that begins in early July, ending a period of relative calm that had lasted for years.

The Houthis say they have taken control of the entire western Al-Hudaydah province after making advances in western Taiz province and seizing the coastal city of Mokha along with its Red Sea port.
