Warmer Weather To Set In Monday, Persist Through Wednesday

Amman, Sep. 13 (Petra) -- A warmer spell is expected to set in on Monday and continue through Wednesday, bringing relatively hot conditions to most regions after moderate weather on Sunday, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.

Sunday will remain moderate across most parts of the country, while hot weather will continue in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Moderate northwesterly winds are expected to become active at times.

Temperatures will edge higher on Monday, turning conditions relatively hot across most regions. The Badia and low-lying areas will remain hotter, with moderate northwesterly winds occasionally picking up.

Little change is forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday, as relatively hot conditions continue across most of the country and hot weather persists in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba.

Sunday's temperatures are forecast to reach 33 degrees Celsius in East Amman and across the plains and 31 C in West Amman. Highs will reach 29 C in the northern highlands, 30 C in the Sharah highlands and 37 C in the Badia.

Temperatures are expected to reach 38 C in the northern Jordan Valley and at the Dead Sea, 39 C in Aqaba and 40 C in the southern Jordan Valley.
