Ukraine Hands US List Of Military Needs, Including Air Defense Requirements

The parties discussed the situation on the battlefield, key threats from Russia, Ukraine's air defense needs, and support for the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

Khmara thanked the United States for its extremely important support for Ukraine, including assistance in supplying critical weapons through the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) and JUMPSTART mechanisms.

U.S. support helps save the lives of Ukrainians and strengthen Ukrainian forces, Khmara said.

The defense minister briefed the senators in detail on the situation on the battlefield and threats from Russia.

"The enemy is stepping up attacks on civilian facilities, increasing the production of ballistic missiles and jet-powered drones, and also attacking vessels that support Ukraine's grain exports," the ministry said.

Khmara stressed that "Russia can only be stopped by force. "To achieve this, it is important to continue supporting the Defense Forces and provide Ukraine with the means to protect people and destroy Russia's military potential."

The Ukrainian side handed over a specific list of needs to counter Russian aggression, including in the area of air defense, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said.

The meeting also addressed how Ukraine's experience could strengthen the United States and other allies. The Ukrainian side presented areas and projects that could help partners be prepared for modern threats.

The ministry thanked the United States for supporting Ukraine on its path toward a just and lasting peace.
