Drones May Have Struck Military Airfield In Taganrog Media


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) That is according to an OSINT analysis by Astra, Ukrinform reports.

Local channels had been warning of drones over the region since the night of September 12, and videos later emerged showing thick smoke over Taganrog, reportedly filmed by local residents.

Astra's OSINT analyst determined that the smoke was coming from the direction of Taganrog's military airfield.

Taganrog-Central is a military airfield in the Rostov region, located within the city of Taganrog. The airfield is home to the 708th Military Transport Aviation Regiment.

The 325th Aircraft Repair Plant, which repairs transport aircraft and components, also operates nearby.

Taganrog Mayor Svetlana Kambulova said the city had come under a massive air attack overnight into Saturday, adding that there were several fires.

Rostov Region Governor Yury Slyusar claimed that more than 70 drones had been destroyed in the region overnight.

He reported "consequences on the ground" and a fire in a store building.
