Former Tennis Player Stakhovsky Discharged From Alpha Special Forces Unit And Placed In Reserve

“Yesterday, September 10, the commander signed the order for my demobilization into the reserves,” he said.

Stakhovsky noted that he had officially served in various capacities with“Alpha” for the past 2.5 years, and unofficially, on a voluntary basis, since the start of the full-scale invasion.

The former tennis player decided to be demobilized for personal reasons.

In the near future, Stakhovsky plans to focus on his winery, Stakhovsky Wines, whose vineyards are located in Zakarpattia.

“The winery is struggling right now, and one of the reasons is that I can't devote more attention to it. You can't serve in the military and develop your private business at the same time. That's not right,” he explained.

In June of this year, Serhii Stakhovsky told Ukrinform in an interview that he had served“at every level” in the“Alpha” Special Forces Center. In particular, he worked on equipping a combat unit with an FPV drone and was part of the engineering team that builds and loads combat warheads. And for the past nearly two years, Stakhovsky has served in one of the“Alpha” units that carried out strikes deep into enemy territory. Specifically, he was part of the team responsible for equipping drones with combat payloads, which were then piloted by other operators.

In addition, Stakhovsky has experience launching drones on long-range missions deep into Russia. His achievements include attacks on Russian oil refineries, a flight to the“Kapustin Yar” missile test range-where the“Oreshnik” is stored-and the destruction of an ammunition depot for“Grad” and“Iskander” systems in Toropets.
