THE WORLD's NEWEST MICRONATION WELCOMES CREATIVE CITIZENS

(MENAFN- Pressat) Writers, artists, musicians, poets and makers from across the world form the micronation's first Creative Collective following an international search. Bron Yr Aur Micronation has selected 11 extraordinary creators from around the world to become Founding Citizens and form its first international Creative Collective.

The writers, visual artists, musicians, poets, makers and multidisciplinary creatives come from Wales, England, Italy, Iran, the United States and beyond. Around 150 people applied to join the Collective, but the search went much further. Bron Yr Aur Micronation also actively explored creative communities, social platforms and independent work across the world, looking for people whose work and outlook connected with the values the micronation is building around.

From that international search, 11 were selected.

They are different in discipline, culture and perspective, but share something important: a belief in the ability of creativity to connect, question, nourish, inspire and bring people together, wherever they may be.

Their arrival also takes Bron Yr Aur Micronation beyond a major milestone: its first 50 Founding Citizens, on the way to 100 Founding Citizens and the micronation's formal declaration of independence.

Bron Yr Aur Micronation is a global, borderless micronation exploring new ways of building countries and communities around participation, inclusivity and peace.

Rooted in Wales but open to the world, its three founding pillars are Creativity, Sustainability and Well-being.

For Bron Yr Aur Micronation, creativity is not something added once a country has been built. It is part of how you build one. That thinking is being developed through the micronation's Ministry of Culture, Heritage & Creative Well-being, established by Chief Visionary Boohai and Ambassador of Culture Heledd Wyn.

Wyn, a Welsh filmmaker, director, multidisciplinary visual artist and Future Wales Fellow, has written Bron Yr Aur Micronation's draft Culture Policy and Cultural Manifesto, which will help guide how its cultural life is stewarded as the micronation develops. Her own practice explores ecological processes, landscape, cultural memory and environmental transformation, while her wider work spans film, education, community participation and sustainable cultural practice.

The manifesto declares that culture should be lived, not simply consumed; that imagination is a civic necessity; and that small nations can dream large futures.

It also contains an idea that sits at the heart of this new international Collective:

"Culture is understood as a bridge between peoples and not a border between them." Cultural Ambassador Heledd Wyn

"We didn't want to simply put out an application form and choose from whoever came to us. We went looking; we explored the work of people around the world because creativity has this extraordinary ability to travel across borders, cultures and languages.
