Zelensky On 9/11 Anniversary: Terrorism Must Be Answered

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Zelensky said this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"Today is an important day – a day of strong people, and at the same time, a deeply tragic one. Twenty-five years ago, on September 11, people were attacked. A terrible attack, a tragedy in the United States. Nearly 3,000 people from 90 countries around the world were killed, including Ukrainians. We honor all the heroes who did everything they could that day to save the lives of others – police officers and firefighters, and simply caring people, including those of Ukrainian descent. We express our respect, admiration, and condolences," he said.

He noted that NATO showed its strength at that time.

Zelensky stressed that it was very important that there had been a response to terrorism and that Article 5 had been invoked.

"This shows that if people want to preserve their civilization and their choice to defend their rights, freedoms, and values, there must be a response to any enemy or terrorist. Because evil must be punished," he added.

As reported, the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks were a series of coordinated attacks by the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization in the United States. A total of 2,996 people were killed in the attacks, including the terrorists, while more than 6,000 were injured. The amount of material damage exceeded $10 billion.
