ITM IHM Creates Global Career Pathways Through UK Curriculum, Paid Internships And International Placements

(MENAFN- ForPressRelease) Mumbai, September 2026: ITM Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), ITM Group of Institutions, is strengthening pathways to global hospitality careers through a structured degree journey that combines international academic exposure, paid industry internships, core certifications like IATA and Foreign languages, with a goal to provide placement opportunities across multiple countries.

The institute's BBA in International Hospitality & Tourism Management offers students an integrated pathway from classroom learning in Mumbai to international academic exposure and global work experience. Through its academic partnership with Queen Margaret University, UK, students undertake modules in Semesters V and VI covering live event management, hospitality's role in economic and social change, and new enterprise creation. ITM IHM's academic associations with University College Birmingham, in partnership with the University of Warwick, and HTMi Switzerland further expand opportunities for students to access globally recognised programmes and international recruitment networks.

Industry exposure is a core component of the programme, with every student completing a five-month internship followed by six months of On-the-Job Training. These paid opportunities provide students with practical experience across leading hospitality brands, including Taj, Marriott, Accor and Oberoi in India, as well as Le Meridien, Paradise Cove, JW Marriott and Grand Hyatt internationally. Students have undertaken international opportunities across Mauritius, the USA, France, New Zealand, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait and Hong Kong.

The pathway has also translated into growing international placement outcomes. To date, 138 students have secured placements in Mauritius, 82 in the USA, 20 across Europe, nine in the Middle East and six in New Zealand. Compensation varies by market and role, with reported earning potential ranging from ₹65,000 in Bahrain to ₹32,64,842 in the USA, while opportunities in Hong Kong can offer salaries of up to ₹1,00,000 per month. The pathway in the UK also gives students the opportunity to work while pursuing their studies, enabling them to contribute towards their living expenses while gaining valuable international work experience that strengthens their professional profiles and resumes.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Purva Tawade, Director, IHM, ITM Group of Institutions, said,“At ITM IHM, we believe hospitality education must go beyond the classroom and prepare students for the realities of a global industry. By bringing together international academic exposure, paid internships and global placement opportunities within the degree, we enable international placement and career opportunities that match the benchmark of the top hospitality institutions across the globe. Our focus is to create global career pathways that help students build successful and sustainable careers.”

By bringing together an international curriculum, paid experiential learning and global placement opportunities within the degree, ITM IHM through its campuses in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, is creating a career-focused model designed to equip hospitality students with the skills, exposure and confidence required to compete in an increasingly international industry.
