Most ergonomic office chairs are engineered around average body proportions drawn from general population data. For users outside that range, the practical result is a chair that fits poorly in specific, measurable ways: a seat too deep to allow full contact with the backrest, lumbar support positioned above the natural curve of the lower spine, armrests set too high or too wide for comfortable shoulder posture, and a seat height that leaves feet unsupported.

User Feedback Drove the Second-Generation Redesign




Through ongoing user interviews, CabeVibe found that even among office chairs specifically designed for petite women, the position of the lower back can still vary depending on a user's height, torso length, and sitting habits. One petite female user who spends approximately 50–60 hours per week using her chair in a home office said that lumbar support was one of the most important features she considered when choosing an office chair, but the original lumbar support position still did not fully meet her needs.

Designed Around How Petite Users Actually Sit




For the upper body, the S2 works from the shoulders down. A 4D headrest adjusts for both height and angle, which matters because torso and neck lengths differ considerably even among users of similar overall height - a headrest fixed at one position tends to push the neck forward on some users and sit behind others entirely. Below it, the adaptive lumbar support is where the second generation changed most. It travels vertically and forward & backward, so support can be moved to meet the user's own lower back curve rather than assuming where that curve should be. On a petite frame, the difference between a lumbar panel set 3 cm too high and one set correctly is the difference between leaning into support and reaching for it.

The legs presented a separate problem. When a seat is too deep, users slide forward to let their knees clear the edge, and the moment they do, contact with the backrest is lost and the lumbar support stops doing anything at all. The S2 uses a 15.7" seat with 6 cm of depth adjustment to keep hips seated back and the spine in contact with the support. Seat height runs from 17.3" to 20.8", lower than conventional office chairs, and a separate foot pedal handles the cases where even the lowest setting leaves feet unsupported - a common outcome for shorter users working at fixed-height desks.

Over a long working day, the fit questions shift from position to endurance. An 8 cm high-resilience W-shaped cushion is paired with a breathable mesh back for sessions that run past a few hours. The 3D armrests adjust for height and angle, and flip up through 90° when they get in the way - useful for users who move between typing, writing by hand, or holding a child, and for anyone whose desk clearance doesn't accommodate fixed arms.
