Inspection Finds Boryspil Diocese Of UOC Affiliated With Russian Orthodox Church
In particular, the inspection established that the administration of the Boryspil Diocese of the UOC is a structural unit of the UOC and is part of the Kyiv Metropolia of the UOC, which, under Ukrainian law, has been recognized as affiliated with a foreign religious organization whose activities are prohibited in Ukraine.
The study also confirmed that the charter of the Boryspil Diocese of the UOC and the documents governing its activities establish that it belongs to the structure of the Kyiv Metropolia of the UOC.
In addition, it was established that the charter of the Russian Orthodox Church provides for the head of the Boryspil Diocese of the UOC to be a member of the ROC's governing statutory bodies.
The DESS said the decision was made based on the findings of an examination that began on August 24, 2026, in accordance with applicable Ukrainian legislation.
