Canada Pledges Over $1B In New Defense Aid For Ukraine
“Overall, the agreements reached today are substantial – more than $2 billion. The government package is worth more than $1 billion for our defense. This primarily includes air defense, Patriot missiles, ammunition for F-16s, and the co-production of drones between our countries,” Zelensky said.
He noted that Ukrainian and Canadian businesses had also reached financial agreements in the energy sector.
In addition, according to the President, Canada will support Ukrainian veterans. Zelensky said a veterans' fund would be established.
“I am grateful to Canada for its contribution to this fund – $40 million, which will immediately support our veterans' programs,” he said.
