Carney: Canada To Send Ukraine One-Third Of All Drones It Produces

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) As an Ukrinform correspondent reports, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said this during a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Calgary.

“Importantly, one-third of all the drones we manufacture will support Ukraine's defense,” Carney said.

He added that Canada would introduce a drone procurement system in its armed forces modeled on the Ukrainian approach.

“Building on the successful model that Ukraine developed, we are launching a national drone marketplace, giving individual units of the Canadian Armed Forces direct access to nearly 400 trusted Canadian suppliers,” the Prime Minister said.

According to Carney, over the next two years, Canadian industry will be capable of producing millions of drones.

“The today's contracts will increase the number of drones available to the Canadian Armed Forces tenfold,” the Canadian Prime Minister noted.
