European Stocks Close Lower Following ECB Rate Hike
Amman, Sept. 10 (Petra) -- European stock indexes closed lower across the board on Thursday following the European Central Bank's decision to raise interest rates.
The pan-European Stoxx 600 index fell roughly 0.61% at the close, according to CNBC.
Germany's DAX dropped 0.69%, the UK's FTSE 100 declined 0.57%, and France's CAC 40 closed down 0.49%.
The central bank's rate hike coincided with sustained gains in global oil prices and rising U.S. Treasury yields, compounding pressure on investors and fueling concerns over persistent inflation.
