Shiladitya Banerjee

Shila's research sits at the interface of statistical physics, soft matter, and biology. He develops quantitative theories of how living cells and organisms generate forces, change shape, grow, and adapt to environmental changes.
Before joining Georgia Tech in 2025, Shila was a faculty member at Carnegie Mellon University (2020–2024) and University College London (2016–2020), and did his postdoctoral work at the University of Chicago (2013–2016).
