Steven Paton

Steven Paton has run the Physical Monitoring Program, now part of the Agua Salud project, for more than three decades on Barro Colorado Island, the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute's primary research station in Panama. The data his team has collected has been used in hundreds, if not thousands of scientific publications. Among many other things, STRI's data has helped scientists gain a better understanding of drought in the region, including its impact on the Panama Canal.
