Israeli Forces Detain Over 100 Palestinians In West Bank In Past Week

RAMALLAH, Sept 10 (NNN-WAFA) -- Israeli forces have detained more than 100 Palestinians across the occupied West Bank over the past week, including children, women, former prisoners and journalists, Palestine News and Info Agency (WAFA) reported.

In a statement, the Palestinian Prisoners' Society (PPS) said that Israeli forces continue to intensify detention operations across the West Bank, accompanied by a range of violations and abuses, including extrajudicial killings, field interrogations of dozens of Palestinians, physical assaults and other forms of abuse, as well as threats against detainees and their families.

Among those detained over the past week was former prisoner Ahmad al-Sayfi of Birzeit, who had been released as part of the latest prisoner exchange deal.

Journalists, Muath Ammarna and Sabri Jibril, along with a number of other former prisoners, were also detained.

During the detention operations, Israeli forces conducted widespread home raids, searching and ransacking properties and causing damage.

They converted several homes into military outposts and detained Palestinians as hostages to pressure their family members, alongside continuing mass detention campaigns that sweep through entire neighbourhoods and areas during these incursions.

The detention operations were accompanied by attacks carried out by Israeli colonists against Palestinians and their property, under the protection and support of occupation forces.

Such attacks have included assaults on Palestinians, road blockades and attacks on vehicles, as part of the escalating system of targeting faced by Palestinians across the West Bank.

The PPS said that field interrogations have become a primary tool used during raids and detention operations.

Dozens of Palestinians are subjected to detention and interrogated under harsh conditions, with some subsequently released and others placed under detention, as daily raids and arrests continue across the West Bank.

The detentions are taking place against the backdrop of the all-out aggression waged by Israel against Palestinians since the onset of the genocide.

Since then, Israeli forces have rounded up more than 25,000 Palestinians from the West Bank, in addition to thousands from the Gaza Strip, as part of a systematic policy targeting Palestinians across all segments of society.
