The promotion recognises his contribution to the Group's operational and business performance and expands his leadership responsibilities across its hotel portfolio in the UAE and Egypt.

Moutaz brings 20 years of experience in hospitality management, with a strong background in hotel operations, leadership, commercial performance, and guest experience. Since joining Gewan Hotels & Resorts as Group Director of Hotel Operations, he has been responsible for strengthening operational standards, quality assurance, performance oversight, and alignment across the Group's properties. During his tenure, he has also contributed to the Group's business performance through initiatives focused on commercial growth, business efficiency, and greater integration across the portfolio. In his new role as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Moutaz will assume a broader strategic, commercial, financial, and operational remit across the Group's hotel portfolio in the UAE and Egypt. He will oversee portfolio performance, support the Group's commercial priorities, and work closely with leadership teams across its existing properties and operations. He will also support Gewan Hotels & Resorts' future development plans as the Group pursues growth opportunities in its existing markets and, over time, the wider region.
