JIEC, Eurocham-Jordan Sign Mou To Support Access To European Markets
Amman, Sept. 10 (Petra) -- The Jordan Industrial Estates Company (JIEC) and the European Chamber of Commerce in Jordan (EuroCham-Jordan) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at establishing cooperation to support investors and industrial companies operating in the Kingdom's industrial cities and improve opportunities for their products to reach European markets.
According to a company statement issued Thursday, the MoU provides for cooperation in supporting and preparing Jordanian industries to comply with European legislation and standards, strengthening their readiness for exports and their ability to compete in international markets.
The agreement also covers the exchange of expertise and knowledge, promotion of available investment opportunities, and the development of partnerships that serve the industrial sector and support the investment environment in Jordan.
JIEC Director General Oday Obeidat said the MoU comes as part of efforts to support the competitiveness of Jordan's industrial sector by facilitating access for products of companies and factories operating in the industrial cities to European markets.
He said the agreement would also help open new channels for cooperation and partnerships with European companies and investors, creating opportunities for expansion and growth and contributing to increased Jordanian exports.
Obeidat commended the Chamber's efforts to strengthen partnerships with various entities in support of Jordan's investment environment, while enabling the industrial sector and enhancing its competitiveness.
Chairman of EuroCham-Jordan Mohammad Samadi stressed the importance of the partnership in promoting Jordanian products in European markets and highlighting the advantages and services provided by Jordan's industrial cities to investors and industrialists.
