VTC, Tourism Ministry Launch 49 Training Programs

Amman, Sept. 10 (Petra) -- Institutes affiliated with the Vocational Training Corporation (VTC), in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, have begun delivering 49 training programs under an initiative established through an agreement between the two sides, the Jordan Future Sustainable Development Company/Future Skills Fund, and the The Jordanian Hospitality and Tourism Education Company.

According to a VTC statement issued Thursday, 608 people have enrolled in the programs, which are being offered through 22 institutes and a number of associations. The participants include 368 job seekers and 240 tourism service providers.

The programs cover fields linked to the tourism sector and its needs, including handicrafts, food industries, hotel and tourism services, food and beverage services, digital marketing, project management for associations, and artificial intelligence tools.

The training is designed to give participants practical, specialized skills while supporting efforts to improve the quality of tourism services and experiences provided to tourists and visitors.

The VTC oversaw the registration and interview process in cooperation with the Jordan Society for Hotels and Tourism Restaurants. The process helped select participants and place them in training programs according to the nature of each field and the needs of the sector.

The initiative targets job seekers by providing training that prepares them for employment in tourism, as well as people already working in the sector who seek to develop their skills and improve the quality of tourism services.

It also includes tourism service providers and local experience providers from local communities across the Kingdom's governorates, with the aim of developing their skills and improving the services and experiences they offer to tourists and visitors.

The programs are being implemented through cooperation among entities working in training and tourism, along with the private sector. The initiative is intended to align training more closely with labor market needs, support the tourism sector with qualified personnel, and help local communities develop skills and benefit from opportunities linked to tourism activity across the Kingdom.
