Türkiye's BIST 100 Opens Lower Wednesday After Tuesday's Strong Rally


(MENAFN) Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Wednesday trading session at 14,381.24 points, slipping slightly by 0.17%, or 24.01 points, from Tuesday's closing level, as investors took a pause following the previous day's sharp gains across the exchange.

At Tuesday's close, the BIST 100 had climbed by 1.79% to reach 14,405.25 points, with the day's total transaction volume reaching a substantial 254 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to approximately $5.25 billion in trading activity.

As of 11:00 a.m. local time (0700GMT), currency exchange rates showed the Turkish lira trading at 48.4775 to the US dollar, 56.4650 to the euro, and 65.7555 against the British pound, reflecting ongoing shifts in the currency markets.

Elsewhere in commodities, the price of an ounce of gold stood at $4,407.5, while Brent crude futures were trading at $99.8 per barrel, both continuing to draw close attention from global market watchers.
