GITEX AI Türkiye 2026 Opens in Istanbul, Spotlighting AI Startups
(MENAFN) GITEX Ai Türkiye 2026, a leading technology showcase, opened Wednesday in Istanbul, drawing global attention to high-potential artificial intelligence startups.
The two-day gathering has pulled together international tech firms, startups, investors, government officials and industry professionals in the Turkish megacity.
Held at the Istanbul Exhibition Center, the event is hosted by the Investment and Finance Office of the Presidency of Türkiye in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Anadolu is serving as the event's global communications partner.
Major participants include Google Cloud, HPE, Nvidia, ASUS, Dell Technologies, SAP, TrendAI, Trendyol and Andevos. More than 350 companies are presenting their technologies to international investors, policymakers and industry leaders throughout the summit.
A meeting point for global tech and capital
Speaking at the opening ceremony, GITEX Vice President Bilal Alrais said the event has drawn investors from 70 countries looking to back the global growth of local firms.
Alrais said the summit is hosting more than 120 startups, including over 20 companies from Türkiye considered potential unicorns. He added that organizers arranged more than 500 pre-scheduled meetings to foster deal-making within the Turkish tech ecosystem.
Gokhan Yucel, head of the communication office at Türkiye's Investment and Finance Office, described the country as a global crossroads, noting that Türkiye sits within a four-hour flight of markets covering 1.3 billion people and a combined GDP of $30.5 trillion.
A push for human-centered AI
Yucel said the two-day event has drawn more than 400 companies, over 100 investors overseeing billions of dollars in capital, and more than 100 thought leaders.
He stressed that AI is already reshaping manufacturing, finance, commerce and public services, and noted that Türkiye is now home to 1,147 active AI companies.
Yucel said the next phase of AI development must center on human needs and trusted technology, calling for international cooperation and patient capital to build a digital future that is both inclusive and economically meaningful.
