Israeli Troops Detain 20 Palestinians in West Bank Raids

(MENAFN) At least 20 Palestinians, among them two children, were taken into custody by Israeli forces during a wave of pre-dawn raids across the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, a Palestinian official news agency reported.

Seven of those detained — including the two children — were seized in Jenin governorate, where Israeli troops swept through multiple towns and villages in the area.

Further south, in Hebron governorate, Israeli forces detained two Palestinians, one from Hebron city and another from the al-Fawwar refugee camp on the city's outskirts.

In the northern West Bank city of Nablus, three Palestinians were arrested after Israeli troops stormed several neighborhoods and conducted home searches.

Israeli forces also detained two Palestinians in Bethlehem, pulling them from the Aida and Dheisheh refugee camps.

In Tulkarem governorate, six more Palestinians were taken into custody after their homes were raided and searched.

The detentions come amid a broader pattern of intensified Israeli military activity across the occupied West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem, since Oct. 8, 2023 — a period marked by reports of killings, arrests, forced displacement, home demolitions and continued settlement expansion.
