Jordan, EAEU Explore Ways To Expand Trade Ties
The two sides stressed that closer coordination could open new commercial opportunities for Jordanian and Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) businesses and increase bilateral trade, according to a statement by Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply.
Qudah said implementing the existing memorandum of understanding requires establishing a dedicated trade and investment working group, calling for its first meeting to be held in Moscow later this year.
He added that developing a targeted roadmap and aligning regulatory frameworks are necessary steps before launching negotiations on a free trade agreement (FTA) or preferential trade agreement (PTA), which would create new opportunities for private-sector growth.
Imanaliev expressed the EAEU's interest in exploring ways to strengthen economic cooperation with Jordan, stressing the need to move from dialogue to“action steps” that deliver tangible benefits to both sides.
