Ukraine's Metallurgical Output Continues To Decline Ukrmetalurgprom


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukrinform reported the figures, citing the Ukrmetalurgprom Association of Enterprises.

According to published data, Ukrainian metallurgical plants produced 4.3 million tonnes of steel in the first eight months of the year, 12.5% less than in the same period last year. Steel output fell 57.3% month‐on‐month in August compared with July.

Pig iron production for the period declined 14.8% to 4.35 million tonnes, with a 65.6% monthly drop in August.

The steepest fall was in rolled products: output for the eight months was 3.6 million tonnes, 15.6% below last year's level, and 57.4% lower than in July.

As reported, Ukraine recorded a more than 30% drop in steel, pig iron and rolled‐product output in July 2026.

It was also reported that Metinvest's Kamet Steel metallurgical plant suspended operations following Russia's missile attack overnight on September 5.
