Arab League Chief Urges Investment In AI Infrastructure, Human Capital At Tunis Summit
Cairo, Sept. 9 (Petra) -- Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy emphasized the necessity of leveraging artificial intelligence to drive development and economic competitiveness while investing in infrastructure and human capital, according to a statement released on Wednesday.
Speaking at the opening of the second AI Summit in Tunis, themed "From Vision to Value: Accelerating the Development of an Intelligent Society," Fahmy highlighted the importance of simultaneously addressing digital divides, governance frameworks, and the responsible deployment of emerging technologies.
Fahmy noted that the Arab League continues to work alongside member states and regional and international partners to build capabilities, facilitate knowledge-sharing, and foster cross-border partnerships.
He added that the pan-Arab organization is focused on translating the Arab Strategy for Artificial Intelligence and the Arab Charter for AI Ethics into practical tools and tangible outcomes across the region.
