Jordan Offers Condolences To Syria Over Deadly Explosion In Idlib


(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday expressed its sincere condolences to the government and people of Syria following an explosion at a weapons depot in Idlib Governorate that left several people dead and injured.

In a statement, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Fouad Majali reiterated the Kingdom's full solidarity with Syria, extended deep sympathies to the victims' families and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Health department in Syria's northwestern Idlib province said that an explosion at an arms depot killed 14 people on September 9, without specifying the cause of the blast.

Sobhi Assaf from Idlib health directorate told the Syrian news agency, SANA, that 11 people were injured, warning that the casualty toll could rise.

Emergency and ambulance referral teams, alongside Civil Defense crews, remained at the scene to prevent further explosions and ensure the safety of residents, Assaf said.
