Bill Collins

• Adjunct Professor, School of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Curtin University

Professor William Joseph Collins specializes in petrology, geochemistry, and tectonics. He was formerly a Research Professor at the School of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Curtin University, Australia. He served as co-leader of the International Geoscience Programme (IGCP) Project 597 and as a member of the AuScope committee in Australia. He has also been on the editorial boards of international journals such as Geology, Contributions to Mineralogy and Petrology, and Precambrian Research. His research primarily focuses on the formation and evolution of continental crust, granite petrogenesis, plate tectonic recycling, and the assembly and dispersal of supercontinents, with particular emphasis on Gondwana and Pangea. He has published over 210 papers in journals including Nature Geoscience, Science Advances, Geology, Earth and Planetary Science Letters (EPSL), and Journal of Petrology, with total citations exceeding 24,000. He has been invited to deliver numerous keynote presentations at international conferences.
