DRDO To Host Virtual TDF Outreach For Northeast Startups And Msmes On Defence Technology Opportunities
The TDF Outreach for Manipur, Meghalaya & Nagaland will be held on 23 September (Wednesday), from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm.
The programme will bring together micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), startups, researchers, incubators, academic institutions and other stakeholders to help them understand India's defence innovation ecosystem and opportunities to develop technologies relevant to defence and aerospace requirements.
Focus on TDF Opportunities
The session will cover TDF funding opportunities, defence technology requirements, eligibility and participation pathways, technology readiness, intellectual property strategy, innovation management and industry-academia collaboration.
The TDF is a Ministry of Defence initiative executed by DRDO to promote indigenous development of defence and dual-use technologies.
The scheme seeks greater participation from Indian industry, particularly MSMEs and startups, in developing innovative technologies, systems, subsystems and components for defence requirements.
The outreach will also discuss the journey from idea and prototype development to technology realisation and deployment, along with potential market and ecosystem linkages.
Opportunities for Northeast Innovators
The programme is aimed at strengthening connections between innovators in the Northeast and the wider defence technology ecosystem.
Key areas highlighted for discussion include artificial intelligence, unmanned systems, cybersecurity, advanced materials, secure communications, semiconductors, robotics, energy technologies and avionics, subject to applicable TDF requirements and evaluation processes.
