28 Rescued As Passenger Vessel Catches Fire Off Palawan, Philippines
Manila: Search and rescue operations are underway after a passenger vessel carrying 134 people caught fire off the coast of Coron, Palawan, on Wednesday.
According to the Philippine Coast Guard, at least 28 people have been safely rescued as of 9pm local time. The vessel was carrying 117 passengers and 17 crew members when the blaze broke out approximately 1.2 nautical miles off Coron Municipality. Emergency responders remain on scene as search efforts continue.
