De Wet Swanepoel, PhD is professor of audiology at the University of Pretoria, South Africa and adjunct professor in otolaryngology-head & neck surgery, University of Colorado School of Medicine. His research capitalises on digital health technologies to explore, develop and evaluate innovative hearing services for greater access and affordability. Prof Swanepoel is research director of the WHO collaborating Center for the Prevention of Deafness and Hearing Loss, editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Audiology and co-founder of a digital health company, hearX Group.
