Prime Minister Directs Establishment Of New Public Parks Across Kingdom
The new park in Zarqa will be modeled on Al Nashama Park in Amman's Marj Al Hamam district, while similar parks planned for Tafileh, Maan, Jerash, Ajloun and Madaba will follow the model of Mafraq Park.
The initiative is part of the government's efforts to expand public parks and family-oriented recreational facilities across the Kingdom's governorates, according to the statement.
The decision follows high visitor turnout at Al Nashama Park, the newly established Mafraq Park and other government-developed public venues, including the Dead Sea Corniche and the public tourist beach, the statement said.
The government will begin allocating the necessary financial resources, identifying suitable land and ensuring that the parks are designed and implemented to high standards.
The parks will be designed as safe, integrated family spaces featuring green areas, picnic and rest areas, walking and cycling paths, tree-planting schemes and parking facilities capable of accommodating hundreds of vehicles. Designs will also take into account accessibility requirements for older people and persons with disabilities.
The facilities will include sports fields, outdoor fitness equipment, large children's play areas and various service amenities.
The parks will also be equipped with public safety measures and surveillance camera networks to enhance visitor security and protect the facilities.
