European Gas Prices At Record High Since 2022
Amman, Sept. 9 (Petra) -- European gas prices continued to rise Wednesday, climbing to $950 per 1,000 cubic meters for the first time since December 2022, according to Bloomberg.
October gas futures on the Dutch Title Transfer Facility (TTF), Europe's benchmark natural gas price, was up 3.2% to $950 per 1,000 cubic meters.
Prices opened the day's trading 2.9% higher at $937.70 per 1,000 cubic meters.
The increase comes as gas storage levels at European facilities dropped faster than usual, while rising demand for liquefied natural gas in Asian markets put pressure on supplies available for shipment to Europe.
