Zelensky: Moscow Must Not Enter Winter Believing It Can Get Away With Terrorizing Ukraine

According to the President, a Russian drone struck a residential high-rise building in Kyiv this morning. There are casualties.

“As always, our rescue workers responded quickly: as of now, the fire has been extinguished,” the head of state noted.

“Overnight in the Odesa region, the Starokozache international border crossing on the border with Moldova was hit. Its operations have been suspended. Unfortunately, two people were killed, three others were injured, and sixteen were evacuated by rescue workers. My condolences go out to the families and loved ones of those who died,” the President emphasized.

Zelensky also reported that efforts to address the aftermath of the Russian attack are ongoing in the following regions: Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, and Kyiv regions.

“Unfortunately, the international community's response to these strikes-which are effectively claiming lives on a daily basis-has been insufficient. But a response is needed: Moscow must not enter the winter believing that its missile and drone terror will go unpunished,” Zelensky stressed.

In his view, the aggression must be stopped here and now to prevent it from spreading further. And it is important that sanctions and support for Ukraine work effectively toward this very goal.

“Partners who can help know exactly what is needed every day. And I thank everyone who helps to the best of their ability,” the head of state added.

As reported by Ukrinform, on the morning of September 9 in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv, a Russian drone struck a 24-story residential building, causing fires and damage to the walls. Six people were injured.
