Egypt, Greece Urge Gaza Plan Progress, Lebanon Calm
(MENAFN) Egypt, Greece and the Greek Cypriot Administration have called for the next stage of US President Donald Trump’s Gaza plan to move forward while demanding an end to Israeli military attacks on Lebanon.
The appeal came during a trilateral meeting in the Egyptian coastal city of El Alamein, bringing together Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides.
The three sides reaffirmed their intention to deepen efforts supporting peace, security, stability and economic prosperity across the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East. They also agreed to further develop cooperation through the trilateral framework established in Cairo in November 2014.
The leaders also addressed maritime boundary issues, stressing that any agreements or memorandums related to maritime delimitation “must be concluded in accordance with international law, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.”
