Turkish Airlines Passenger Numbers Soar to 64M in 2026
(MENAFN) Turkish Airlines ferried 64 million passengers between January and August 2026, a 5.4% jump over the same stretch last year, the carrier disclosed Tuesday.
In a filing with Türkiye's Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), the flag carrier reported that international traffic climbed 6.1% year-on-year to 41.8 million passengers, while domestic journeys rose 4.3% to 22.2 million.
Efficiency also improved: the airline's overall load factor rose to 84.7%, up from 82.7% a year earlier. Broken down by segment, the international load factor reached 84.5% and the domestic figure hit 86.5%.
The carrier's global footprint expanded in tandem with demand. Its network now spans 358 destinations, up from 353, while its fleet grew 13% to 566 aircraft, compared with 501 previously.
August Alone Delivers 10 Million Travelers
Momentum carried into August, when Turkish Airlines flew 10 million passengers — a 5.6% rise from the same month a year ago.
International passenger volume grew 5% to 6.4 million, while domestic traffic outpaced it, climbing 6.8% to 3.6 million.
The airline's load factor for the month surged to 88%, up from 86.6% in August of last year. The international load factor came in at 87.6%, and the domestic load factor reached 91.3%.
