Serbia Sets Early Parliamentary Elections for October

(MENAFN) Serbia is set to hold early parliamentary elections on October 25, President Aleksandar Vucic confirmed Tuesday, marking the country’s move toward an anticipated snap vote.

Vucic said parliament would be dissolved and the early elections formally called on Wednesday, paving the way for the nationwide parliamentary contest.

"Elections will be held in Serbia on October 25," Vucic said.

The ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) has already selected Vucic to lead the United Serbia alliance’s electoral list for the upcoming vote. The alliance has also put forward his name for the position of prime minister.
