Q2 Budget Deficit Hits QR21.2Bn

Qatar's state budget recorded a deficit of QR21.2bn in the second quarter of 2026, the Ministry of Finance announced yesterday.

In a statement posted on its official X account, the ministry said total revenue during the quarter stood at approximately QR25.6bn, while expenditure reached about QR46.8bn.

Salaries and wages accounted for QR17.611bn of spending, while current expenditure amounted to QR19.662bn. Major capital expenditure stood at QR8.748bn and minor capital expenditure reached QR858mn.

The state budget had recorded a deficit of QR10.3bn in the first quarter of 2026.
