Bosnia and Herzegovina Declares Serbian Embassy Staff Persona Non Grata
(MENAFN) Bosnia and Herzegovina declares two Serbian Embassy officials persona non grata and announces plans to withdraw its backing for a regional cooperation declaration, Foreign Minister Elmedin Konakovic says Tuesday.
Konakovic says Serbian Embassy military attache Milan Dulanovic and Darko Maksimovic, an adviser to a representative of Serbia’s Security Information Agency (BIA), are being expelled from the country.
"These two individuals have 48 hours to leave Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Konakovic, adding that their diplomatic identification cards would be revoked.
He also calls on members of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s diplomatic community to end official communication with the two Serbian representatives.
Konakovic says the decision follows reactions from Serbian officials to the burial of convicted war criminal Ratko Mladic in Belgrade. He describes the recent developments as crossing “all red lines.”
The foreign minister stresses that Bosnia and Herzegovina will not accept attempts to portray the glorification of people convicted of genocide or other international crimes as nothing more than personal opinions.
