War Update: 263 Clashes On Front Line Over Past Day, 49 Russian Attacks In Pokrovsk Sector

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this in an update on the battlefield situation as of 8:00 on September 9.

Russian forces launched two missile strikes and 79 airstrikes, dropping 302 guided aerial bombs. In addition, Russian forces deployed 9,233 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,601 shelling attacks, 42 of them using multiple-launch rocket systems.

The enemy shelled Bachivsk, Bezsalivka, Korenok, Ulanove, Neskuchne, Rohizne, Atynske, Volfyne, Tovstodubove, Mala Slobidka, Potapivka, Sopych, Hirky, Myshutyne, Kozache, Vovkivka, Sukhodil, Kucherivka, and Stara Huta in the Sumy region, as well as Khrinivka and Chornyi Rih in the Chernihiv region.

Ukraine's Air Force, missile forces and artillery struck seven clusters of Russian personnel, eight UAV control posts, and an artillery system.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Russian forces launched two assaults. Thee also carried out 79 shelling attacks and one strike with a guided aerial bomb.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 10 Russian attacks. Russian troops attempted to advance toward Lyman, Starytsia, Vovchansk, Chaikivka, Mala Vovcha, Rubizhne, and Ustynivka.

In the Kupiansk sector, Russian forces made six attempts to improve their positions, launching assaults toward Kupiansk, Kurylivka, Hlushkivka, and Novoosynove.

In the Lyman sector, Russian forces attacked 11 times toward Shyikivka, Druzheliubivka, Novoselivka, Lyman, and Dibrova.

In the Sloviansk sector, the enemy launched seven assaults near Yampil, Kryva Luka, Kalenyky, Mykolaivka, and Rai-Oleksandrivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces carried out one offensive operation toward Yurkivka.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, there were 17 Russian attacks. Russian troops launched assaults near Kostiantynivka and toward Novoselivka, Mykolaipillia, Shakhove, Sofiivka, Rusyn Yar, Illinivka, and Kucheriv Yar.

The enemy launched 49 attacks in the Pokrovsk sector, attempting to advance toward Dorozhnie, Bilytske, Novyi Donbas, Vodianske, Shevchenko, Nadiia, Myrne, Serhiivka, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, Novopidhorodnie, Dobropillia, Hannivka, Krasnopodillia, and Novopavlivka.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian forces launched two assaults toward Rybne and Shevchenko.

In the Huliaipole sector, Russian forces attacked nine times, attempting to advance toward Dobropillia, Rizdvianka, Kosivtseve, Tsvitkove, and Charivne.

In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy made no attempts to improve their positions.

In the Dnipro River sector, Russian forces conducted no offensive operations.

In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, no signs of Russian forces forming offensive groups were detected.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, total Russian combat losses since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, through September 9, 2026, are estimated at about 1,500,870 personnel.
