Temperatures To Climb Friday After Mild Midweek Weather

Amman, Sep. 9 (Petra) -- Mild weather will hold across most regions through Thursday before temperatures turn higher on Friday, ushering in a relatively hot start to the weekend, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.

Conditions will remain moderate across most of the country on Wednesday, with the hotter weather largely confined to the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Moderate northwesterly winds may pick up at times.

Temperatures are expected to dip slightly on Thursday, maintaining moderate conditions across most regions. Low clouds will appear over northern and central areas, while the Badia and low-lying regions remain hot.

The pattern will shift on Friday as temperatures begin to rise. Relatively hot weather will spread across most regions, while the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba will continue to experience hotter conditions. Winds will be moderate, shifting between northeasterly and northwesterly and becoming active occasionally.

The warmer conditions will carry into Saturday, with little change expected in temperatures. Most regions will remain relatively hot, while hot weather persists across the Badia and the Jordan Valley, as well as around the Dead Sea and Aqaba.

Wednesday's highs are forecast at 34 degrees Celsius in East Amman and 32 C in West Amman, falling to 30 C in the northern highlands and 29 C in the Sharah highlands.

The highest readings are expected in the southern Jordan Valley at 42 C, followed by the Dead Sea at 41 C. Temperatures will reach 40 C in the northern Jordan Valley and Aqaba and 37 C in the Badia.
